Gunite Pool Construction
Custom Gunite Pools in Katy
Gunite is the most flexible way to build an inground pool, and it is what most Katy homeowners picture when they imagine a custom backyard. We spray a pneumatically applied concrete shell over a steel rebar cage, which means the shape, depth, vanishing edge, and tanning ledge are all yours to design. Johnbrownsbody builds gunite pools sized to your lot and finished in quartz or pebble aggregate.
Why Homeowners Choose Gunite
- Any design. A sprayed shell over rebar can take any freeform or geometric shape, so the pool fits your yard on Mason Road instead of the other way around.
- Built to last. A properly cured gunite shell lasts decades, and a pebble interior finish holds up 15 to 25 years, far longer than standard plaster.
- Room for features. Raised spas, sheer-descent waterfalls, and deck jets all tie directly into a gunite structure and one automation system.
Our Process
We start with layout and excavation, then set the rebar cage and rough plumbing before shooting the gunite shell. After the shell cures we set waterline tile and coping, pour the deck, trowel the interior finish, and start the pool up. Every stage passes an inspection, and we wire the NEC 680 equipotential bonding grid and set ANSI/PHTA/ICC-7 anti-entrapment drain covers along the way. A typical build near the 77494 corridor runs eight to twelve weeks.
