New Zealand video update #1

The road to the southern most city in the world- Invercargill, NZ.

UK + US Video Update

We just arrived home after a 16-date tour in the UK with Easy Star All-Stars. During the 3 weeks we zigzagged across England to some of the most beautiful country towns, cold beaches, and city centers. The tour was a killer success and we met a lot of wonderful new friends and fans.
Hope you enjoy the video…..we meant to put it up last week.

We also are really excited to share with you the latest installment of the BayTaper.com San Francisco JBB series. Check out the fantastic multi-media documentation of our most recent gig at The Rickshaw Stop.

JBB Update

John Brown’s Body has begun recording a track for, ‘SHATTER THE HOTEL: The Songs Of Joe Strummer In Dub’. The release celebrates the anniversary of one of the greatest albums of all time, LONDON CALLING by The Clash. ‘SHATTER THE HOTEL’ is a tribute to Joe Strummer’s connection with Jamaican music via reggae and dub. The record aims to further explore the concept Joe Strummer once defined as the ‘punk-rasta interface’ and will benefit Strummerville: the Joe Strummer Foundation for New Music. This is JBB’s first studio project since recording AMPLIFY and it feels really great to be back in the studio.

Tommy B and Mike Keenan recently finished tracking for the new Adonai and I record, by JBB alumni David Gould. The album has been mixed Josh Driscoll, also a JBB alumni and will be released on Oct 1, 2009 on John Zorn’s Tzadik record label.

Tommy B and Natedog along with members of Morphine and G Love and Special Sauce will be holding down every Thursday night in July at the House Of Blues front room in Boston..the band is Dub Apocalypse and there is no cover!

The Vermont Roots Reggae Festival -> Canceled

John Brown’s Body will not be performing at The Vermont Roots Reggae Festival on June 20th. The festival organizers did not receive security permits needed to hold the festival from the City of Burlington. We sincerely apologize to all fans that were anticipating JBB’s performance.

We have booked a separate show at Higher Ground in early September with very special guests, which we will be releasing shortly. Be on the look out for full tour announcements soon. Hope to see you then.

Remix JBB for chance to DJ at Camp Bisco

remix

This spring we offered the stems to the JBB song “Zion Triad”. Within hours remixes of the track started flowing in and were heard on radio stations from as far away as Spain.

Through the success that you created, John Brown’s Body teamed up with ACID Planet and Disco Biscuits to offer a totally new remix opportunity. Today we posted stems from the JBB song “Ghost Notes” which appeared on our AMPLIFY record. This track is extremely close to our hearts because it pays tribute to our brother, late JBB bassist Scott Palmer, who passed away after a battle with cancer in 2006.

Click here to remix “Ghost Notes”. When you post your remix you will have a chance to win ACID software and maybe even a DJ set at this years Camp Bisco festival. You could join Disco Biscuits, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, STS9, and John Brown’s Body to performer your own set in front of thousands of people.
